Siena here we come!
Janet-“ back to my cottage cheese”
Kylie-“ something that doesn’t poison me (she says we allow to much crap in our food)”
Jean-“ I guess that crappy oatmeal”
Lial-“ back to bay muffins and honey”
Alexis-“avocado toast for me”
Nick-“back to lame protein shakes”
Here are a few of our choices below and let me tell you you can have as much as you want. It is all homemade and the ingredients come from their gardens outside. I can’t even begin to tell you about the fruits! And don’t forget to ask for your cappuccino, which comes hot and served in a cup and saucer delivered to you!
Ok, back to Siena! Off we go after breakfast in our cars! I also have to give cudos to our drivers and navigators! The drivers are Alexis, Kylie and Nick. Navigators are Lial, Nick and Kylie. Janet and I are along for the ride!
It only took 50 minutes to get to Siena from our place. What a great little town. We have not been disappointed about anywhere we have visited.
The beautiful Duamo de Santa Maria de Assunta Cathedral of Siena. It was constructed between 1215 and 1264. It is French Gothic, Classic Architecture and Tuscan architecture blended together to create one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Italy. The walls are black and white marble. It is really stunning and immense!
You’ll notice all the flags flying, which designate all the different neighborhoods. There is a horse race that occurs in August, the neighborhoods compete against each other and the winner gets to display their flags. It is held in the Piazza del Campo. It is the main public square in the center of Siena and it is regarded as one of Europe’s greatest medieval squares.
And another successful day of shopping and eating until our hearts ( and stomachs) are content!
Ciao! See you in Cinque Terre!
