Badia Coltibuono

Off we go to pick up our rental cars to drive to our next destination in Tuscany, where will be staying for the rest of our trip. Badia Coltibuono, it’s an old Abby that had been turned into a winery and where they grow the grapes for the wine and the olives for the olive oil.

Only about an hour from Florence.

We are going on these beautiful winding roads.

We arrived at this beautiful stone old Abby. It’s where the Benedictine monks lived. After the war it was bought by a very rich family and turned into a winery. They also grow olive trees and make olive oil. Hope they have a gift shop!

Got into our apartment, picked our rooms, now we had to get off to our wine tasting, which will be accompanied by meats and cheese. First we get a tour of the underground wine cellar by Agatha, she will also be doing our tasting. The bottles are so old, but she assures us that they still taste good. Nick and Kylie found the ones that have the date they were born.

We enter this beautiful dining room with this elegant table ready for our tasting!

After our wine tasting we all just walked around to get to get to know the place. It’s so country side looking! Alexis found this great place and it’s one of our favorites !
Our dinner reservation was at 7:30 and there was a wedding going on in the restaurant so they put us in a special room in the abbey for our dinner.
I can’t repeat myself enough about the service here! Nothing compares and the people waiting on you are happy!

Can you imagine eating all of this in one sitting? We did it and loved every bite!
